While Chinese new energy vehicles are accelerating their overseas expansion, many traditional fuel-powered vehicles in China are also making strides globally and quietly enhancing their influence in overseas markets. This year’s Beijing Auto Show witnessed a major spectacle as a large number of overseas media and dealers converged on the Chery booth. Nowadays, Chery’s flagship hot-selling Tiggo 8 series has also launched a new flagship product, the Tiggo 8L. This car, with its design and power that are fully in line with international standards, has attracted much attention since its release.

In fact, the Tiggo family series has long been a leading player among domestic SUVs, but relatively cluttered model lineups and inconsistent exterior designs have to some extent affected their specific market performance. However, with the Tiggo 8L, the vehicle's exterior design leans towards a simpler and more elegant style. The large-mouth grille adopts a similar design to other family models, while the interior is complemented by a lattice-pattern diamond chrome element, which not only enhances visual impact but also exudes a sense of luxury. The sharp and upward-sweeping headlights on both sides are reminiscent of the Fengyun T9, and the three-segment LED daytime running lights inside are highly aggressive, making the entire front fascia look more dynamic.
In terms of interior design, the Tiggo 8L also maintains a restrained approach, with a horizontal and vertical layout that, combined with the vehicle's infotainment screen, creates a clean and refreshing appearance. The built-in 8155 chip keeps up with the current technological trend of intelligent cockpits in automobiles. However, nearly all traditional buttons inside the new car have been eliminated, and functions are highly concentrated in the infotainment screen, so the actual ease of use remains to be seen.
In terms of vehicle dimensions, the Tiggo 8L measures 4795/1930/1725 (1737) mm in length, width, and height respectively, with only a slight difference in height compared to the Fengyun T9, while the rest of the data remains consistent. Also positioned as a mid-size SUV, the Tiggo 8L offers a seven-seat version for consumers to choose from, reflecting the Tiggo family's consistent focus on practicality.
In terms of power, in addition to the classic 1.6T turbocharged engine, the Tiggo 8L will also be equipped with a 2.0T engine, which has a maximum power output of 187kW (254 horsepower). The transmission system is likely to be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and it is expected that an all-wheel-drive system will also be available as an option.
As a new member of the Chery Tiggo 8 family, Tiggo 8L has undergone a comprehensive upgrade in terms of appearance, interior, and power, demonstrating Chery's profound expertise in automobile manufacturing.
