Since the launch of BYD Seagull in April 2023, it has broken the previous problems of low price, low quality, and serious homogenization in the A00 level market, and has become the dual sales champion of pure electric sedans and A00 level models. As of the end of July 2024, the cumulative sales of Seagull have exceeded 500000 units, only 16 months before its launch, making it the fastest pure electric sedan and A00 class model in the Chinese market to achieve this achievement.
On August 1, the 2025 BYD Seagull was officially launched, with a price range of 69,800-85,800 yuan. A total of three models were launched with different configurations.As an annual model change, the new car basically remains unchanged in terms of design, mainly focusing on improving the configuration to further enhance the user experience.Its core selling point is two upgrades and 16 standard configurations.The positioning is "a new generation of mainstream scooter".
First, let's talk about the most obvious configuration changes on the new model:

In terms of design, the overall design is still the one we are familiar with, featuring a closed front grille with sharp headlights on both sides, and a small and flexible body shape, which is highly recognizable. The difference is that the new car adopts a new "BYD" logo, which is visually more concise than the previous "BUILD YOUR DREAMS".
In addition, the Free and Fly versions of the new car have been equipped with all-new 16-inch wheel rims, and the vehicle body has eliminated the Emerald Green color option, retaining the four color options of Arctic Blue, Sunny White, Midnight Black, and Peach Pink. In terms of body dimensions, the new car measures 3780mm in length, 1715mm in width, 1540mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2500mm, which is consistent with the current model.
Inside the cabin, the new car comes with a 10.1-inch rotating central control screen across all trims, which, combined with a 7-inch full LCD instrument cluster, further enhances the technological feel of the interior. Additionally, the entire lineup of the new car has been upgraded with a more manageable fabric roof lining, and the Pink Hilly interior features a solid-color design, adding a touch of fashion to the interior.
In terms of power, the new car continues to be equipped with a single electric motor with a maximum power of 55kW. It comes with two battery capacities of 30.08kWh and 38.88kWh, corresponding to a CLTC pure electric driving range of 305km and 405km respectively. Additionally, the new car can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The product strength of BYD stems from its e-platform 3.0 technology, which boasts high-safety Blade Batteries and an exclusive safety body structure designed specifically for electric vehicles. With a wheelbase of 2500mm and an axle-to-length ratio of 66.1%, the vehicle ensures agility while providing spaciousness comparable to that of A-segment cars. The DiLink intelligent networking system supports voice interaction and cloud services, and comes standard with a 10.1-inch adaptive rotating floating touchscreen pad.
In the first half of 2024 sales figures, the Seagull's sales momentum continued to rise, with a cumulative sales volume of nearly 200,000 units. In its segment, it achieved a monthly market share as high as 43.9%, establishing itself as the "new generation mainstream commuting car." Evidently, the Seagull has garnered significant favor and recognition from a vast number of users in the 80,000-yuan automotive market. With the launch of this new model, it is expected that sales will climb even higher. The milestone of reaching 1 million units sold is a significant achievement, and it remains to be seen when the Seagull will attain this remarkable feat.
